The tourism department is planning to conduct package tours to Warangal in the back drop of the ensuing Kakatiya Festival, informed the department special chief secretary Chandana Khan. She visited the tourism hotel ‘Haritha’ that came up at Nakkalagutta in Hanamkonda and inspected the finishing works going on at the hotel on Sunday. Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy will inaugurate the hotel on December 21.
Speaking on the occasion, she said wide publicity would be given to Kakatiya Festival and the tours being run by the department. The campaign would be launched in Hyderabad on December 19.
The package tours will be of two-day duration. It will cover the places like Pembarthy, Warangal Fort, Bhadrakali, 1000 Pillars, Ramappa and Ghanpur Group of Temples. Natural attractions like Laknavaram and Ramappa Lakes and Eturunagaram wildlife sanctuary are also a part of the package. Minister for Information Technology Service Ponnala Lakshmaiah will inaugurate a tourism restaurant built at Pembarthi in the district on December 18, the official noted.
The sound and light show planned to conduct at Fort Warangal will be launched by the time of the valedictory of the year-long event of Kakatiya Festival that concludes in December 2013, she said.
Chandana Khan also held meetings with district officials to review the ongoing arrangements for the Kakatiya Festival. Tourism director Sunitha M Bhagavathi, district public relations officer K Venkataramana, tourism officer Shivaji and others were present.
