Hours after TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao addressed an election meeting at Parkal, a school bus driver committed suicide reportedly in support of the separate Telangana cause.
Vexed with the Centre’s dilly-dallying and the leaders’ false promises on Telangana, Parusa Rajesh, 40, consumed poison to end his life. Rajesh attended KCR’s meeting where he showed the suicide note he had written to TRS activists who then rushed him to MGM Hospital where he breathed his last. He was a native of Godavarikhani in Karimnagar district.
“He pleaded with TRS leaders to take care of his wife Satyavathi, sister Jyothi, son Praveen and daughter Sailaja,” a TRS activist said. “In his suicide note, he also requested them to fulfil his daughter’s dream of becoming an engineer,” a police official said. In his note, Rajesh lambasted Congress leaders Kiran Kumar Reddy, Damodar Rajanarasimha, P Chidambaram, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Renuka Chowdary, KVP Ramachandra Rao, Chiranjeevi, TG Venkatesh, Lagadapati Rajagopal and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu for working against the formation of a separate Telangana state.
His relatives said that Rajesh was a driver contracted with the state-run RTC. Ramagundam MLA Somarapu Satyanarayana, Warangal (West) MLA Vinayabhaskar, former MLA Ramalingareddy, TRS district president P Sudarshan Reddy and BJP state president G Kishan Reddy visited MGM Hospital on Sunday and consoled the family members of the deceased.
In February, soon after the Station Ghanpur bypolls, two Telangana activists committed suicide for the separate state cause.
