Warangal: The annual Brahmotsavam of deity Sri Bhadrakali at historic Bhadrakali Temple has began here on Sunday. Backward Communities Welfare Minister Baswaraju Saraiah and Warangal (West) MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhasker offered prayers at the temple after formally launching the celebrations on the day.
The leaders have interacted with the temple executive office K Anjani Devi and trustee Bhadrakali Seshu and enquired about the arrangements made for the event. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister lauded the efforts being made by the official and the trustee in providing amenities to the visiting devotees. He further said that the significance of the temple that belongs the era of Chalukya dynasty who ruled this place at around 625 A.D has been spread across the nation.
Vinay Bhasker who spoke on the occasion noted that it was a good omen that the Brahmostavams of Bhadrakali began on ‘Mothers’ Day’ that falls on May 12. The leaders appealed to the devotees to visit the temple in large numbers and seek the divine intercession of the deity.
Temple executive officer K Anjani Devi and trustee Bhadrakali Seshu told press persons that elaborate arrangements were made for the annual festivities where thousands of devotees from across Warangal and neighbouring districts were expected to participate.
Special pujas, spiritual discourses and cultural programmes during the evenings would be held as part of the Brahmotsavams during which the celestial wedding of the deities Bhadrakali and Bhadreshwara was scheduled to be held on May 15.
