BJP asks TPJAC to be neutral in Parkal bypoll

BJP national secretary Dr K Laxman on Tuesday appealed to the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee to remain neutral in the by-elections being held for Parkal Assembly constituency without giving support to any party.

Talking to media persons at party office, he urged JAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram to remain neutral in Parkal constituency as certain political conditions prevailed in the segment.

Stating that Konda Surekha did not resign from the MLA’s post for the cause of Telangana, he said that BJP fielded its candidate for the same reason.

Even BJP had supported those, who resigned for the cause of separate statehood and worked to ensure their victory, he claimed.

If the TPJAC unilaterally takes a decision to support the Telangana Rashtra Samithi candidate in the Parkal by-elections, he said that the BJP would reconsider its decision in supporting the TPJAC.

He appealed to the people to vote in favour of BJP candidate in the by-elections.

After the victory of BJP’s candidate from Mahbubnagar constituency in the recent by-elections, he said that the Congress leaders, fearing of losing in by-elections, have been sending Delhi leaders to conduct surveys over the fate of Congress in the region.

Alleging that TDP and Congress hatched a conspiracy to dilute TPJAC’s role in the by-elections, he said that the TRS was also one of party in it and appealed to TPJAC not to fall in this political trap.
